In 1938, he organised an amphibious combined operations landing exercise that impressed the new C-in-C of Southern Command , General Sir Archibald Percival Wavell . He was promoted to major general on 14 October 1938 and took command of the 8th Infantry Division in Palestine. There he quashed an Arab revolt before returning in July 1939 to Britain, suffering a serious illness on the way, to command the 3rd (Iron) Infantry Division . On hearing of the rebel defeat in April 1939, Montgomery said, "I shall be sorry to leave Palestine in many ways, as I have enjoyed the war out here".
This is rare chance to hear the uncompromising virtuosity of jazz pianist Robert Mitchell in an intimate setting. Robert emerged in the 90’s playing a key role in the London jazz scene in bands like Tomorrow’s Warriors and playing with musicians such as Courtney Pine and Steve Coleman before going on to establish his own ensembles (Panacea and Robert Mitchell’s 3io). Robert’s musical experience spans jazz, classical, hip-hop and Cuban music but what is unique about his playing is the fusion of an astonishing technique (in some quarters he is referred to as Robert ‘muthafingers’ Mitchell) with a complex and searching creativity.
When I was little, I saw Claudia Schiffer and Linda Evangelista and I thought they were Europeans however with Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford and Christine Turlington there was something exotic about them. Cindy looks a bit to Evan or viceversa. She has brown eyes, and her eyebrows something in her face scream a bit of native american because French and Arab could affect but the result is slightly different. I always thought it that way, in the past women lost their last names as they married maybe she has it but she doesn’t know it yet :)
